A new health and fitness club is scheduled to be opened by Nottinghamshire YMCA in the new year. Known as Club Y, the centre has been designed with the individual in mind, in order to provide a holistic approach to health, fitness and well-being.
Club Y is part of a large rennovation project being undertaken by Nottinghamshire YMCA at their site on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham. The full project represents an investment of £1.3 million and the new fitness club will act as the centrepiece of the refurbished building.
Will Wakefield, Chief Executive of Nottinghamshire YMCA said, “The YMCA has been actively involved in Nottingham and the surrounding area for almost 140 years. We have adapted and changed over the years to provide a service to the local community. Our investment today underpins our work and our belief that we can help people to improve the quality of their lives whether it is to become fitter and healthier or to provide young people in crisis with a brighter future.
The official opening of Club Y will take place in January 2009. However, the doors will open for the first time on Thursday 18th Decemeber 2008. Memberships cost from £18 per month.
